Location
Have you ever wanted to learn how to surf in Ocean Beach the real “SoCal” way? Then our Ocean Beach surf lessons are definitely the way to go!
Ocean Beach (also known as O.B.) is a truly unique beachfront community that boasts many things to do. After your 90 minute surf lesson at Ocean Beach Surf School, chow down on a well-deserved burger at Hodad’s, an OB local burger eatery recognized as one of the top 5 burger joints in the country by CNN and voted as NBC San Diego’s best burger!
Located by the main lifeguard tower on Santa Monica Avenue and Ocean Beach Park, Ocean Beach Surf School makes for the perfect location to spend the day with the family on the beach. Make sure to make it a full day when visiting as the activities are endless here in OB.
Where to stay
OB has some great places to stay on any budget. For those travelers looking to stay in a fun, hip, outgoing, and colorful environment, the OB International Hostel is right up your alley. Located right up the street from Ocean Beach Surf School, you can walk to the beach from the hostel without even ordering a cab.
For something a little more family oriented with a beachy boutique elegance to it, the OB Hotel is right for you and your family. A stone’s throw away from the beach and Ocean Beach Surf Camp, you will also be within 20 minutes of all the area’s main attractions, such as Sea World, Sunset Cliffs (where you can enjoy majestic views of the Pacific Ocean), Old Town, San Diego Zoo, and even Balboa Park.
The best part about Ocean Beach, San Diego is there are so many great things within walking distance so you can park your car and truly make it a fun-filled day.
Parking
Parking can be a bit tricky at the beach. Please plan for at least 45 minutes before your lesson time to park and get situated on the beach to meet your instructor.
There are many free public parking lots located at the foot of Voltaire Street.
